Who Is In Your Circle?
Keeping good company:
What makes someone a “good” person to spend time with? The people we surround ourselves with have a huge impact on our life. Some can be parasites. And some will strengthen you and lift you up. So what are the benefits of surrounding yourself with good people?
Good people aren’t saints, or at least they don’t have to be. They will inspire you to be a better person. And provide you with the motivation to achieve your goals. They empower you to make the changes you need to succeed and cheer on your success. Good people can be family members, friends, or co-workers.
Do You Spend Your Time With Good People?
Think about the people you spend the most time with. Write down their qualities. Would you call them a positive or negative person? Happy or sad? Now think of how they interact and affect you.
Do they make you feel like you have what it takes to reach your goals?
Do they support you in achieving your goals? In your schoolwork? Your sports & after-school activities?
Do they listen to you? (They listen without interrupting. They understand what you’re saying & don’t give unsolicited advice.)
Do you want to spend more time with them?
Do you feel happy and energized after spending time with them?
“Surround yourself with people who make you happy. People who make you laugh, who help you when you’re in need. People who genuinely care. They are the ones worth keeping in your life. Everyone else is just passing through.”
– Karl Marx
