Advancing Disability Inclusion
October Awards Parade
Celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness
Month and Mentoring Day.
Local businesses lined the streets, and children eagerly accepted the candy thrown while families and community members cheered on the parade participants. People with disabilities participated in their first parade, and their enthusiasm and gratitude were evident. Dustin Matthew was the Grand Marshall, leading the parade as he has the inclusion of people with disabilities within our community.
The following were presented awards:

  • Matthew Williams – The Spirit of Disability:IN Uinta County
  • Marney Huffaker, manager of Murdoch’s Ranch and Home Supplies – Employer of the Year
  • Parker Merritt – Employee of the Year with team members from Mountain West Business Supplies

Since losing his vision in 2012, George has grown passionate about disability inclusion and making the Internet accessible to everyone. ​He manages several software development groups at Jack Henry and Associates, a national financial software company. In addition, he has served on the Disability:IN GKC board since 2017 and currently serves as Board President. His professional experience over the past 34 years includes writing software, managing a software consulting firm, serving as corporate counsel for the FDIC, practicing law with a small local firm, and teaching college business law classes.
